SHOWS in English
After the allied had left Berlin in the 90s
they have taken their rich cultural heritage with them, which
formed the character of the city. There is nothing more left
than a "British Bookshops" and some private initiatives
- and the opportunity of a cheap flight to London.... |

Classic German THEATRE
(in German:)
Berlin once was the home of German speaking
theatre, and literature. Many of the great directors (B.Barlog)
and artists are connected to the city. Berlin also gave birth
to legit theatre in the present form ("Three Penny Opera"
by Weill/Brecht) and also have pace in history of operettas.
Astonishing this tradition is not cultivated anymore. More and
more trash culture takes place. |

Scheinbar Varieté
We consider it the best of the "rest"- read, the best
of all very small and private funded stages. It all takes place
in a living room, which converts after 8.30pm to a bar and stage.
About 30 guests only. Events include an open stage for anybody
who feels ready to perform "live"! Located in Schöneberg,
Monumentenstr. 9 (784-5539); Monumentenstreet starts to count
from the west! Consider it in walking distance from U Kleistpark.

Other (international relevant) EVENTS |
Internationale Grüne Woche
the "green week", the selftitled bigges agriculture
show in the world takes place in January. Surely it had some
importance in the cold war, when West-Berlin was cut off from
the agricultural zone in the surrounding East. Berlin children
had the chance to see i.e. a cow for the first time in life.
Nowadays the show is a huge food hall, being used by the producers
to test the market and introduce new products.
Berlin Film Fest ("Berlinale")
Since 1951 the Festival has established itsself among the leading
film festivals of the world. Though in recent years the lack
of stars not attending their film´s screening in the competition
had damaged the image.

The Berlin Tourist Fair in March is one of the biggest events
